Barbara Valladares helps young people prepare for healthy, prosperous adulthood. She began her career by counseling teens individually and now works at an organizational level to give kids the resources and strategies they need to succeed.
A native of Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley, Barbara earned her B.A. at George Washington University and a master of education (M.Ed.) in Rehabilitation Counseling and secondary school counseling certificate at the University of Pittsburgh. In working with teens, Barbara establishes an environment that supports self-expression within clear boundaries — a real communication starter. By facilitating successes and providing resources in times of difficulty, she teaches young people how to be more effective. Barbara knows she has succeeded when she hears teens communicating openly, when she helps them get through a crisis or obtain that acceptance letter.
Barbara is experienced in sales and fundraising. A consummate event planner, she chairs Bethlehem’s annual Chiari and Syringomyelia Foundation Unite@Night.
Barbara and her husband have two daughters. They are now in high school and college, so she is looking to transition from part-time to full-time at a management or director level.
